The Summit Ski Tours concept was born in 1995 when Scott Mahony, from Melbourne Australia, visited Silver Star Resort to participate in a ski racing event. Wanting to know more about the Interior of B.C., Scott tried to get information about the resorts in the area from travel agents in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Surpised to find very little information available (back before the mainstream use of the Internet), Scott decided to rent a car and spend some time exploring the Interior.

Travelling with old ski buddy, Dom Borger, four weeks were spent driving around the resorts having a great time, meeting locals and wondering why these resorts were relatively unheard of in Australia. That was when the idea of putting together tours of the area was born.

In 1996 the first tour ran with a small group. The fun started from the first introduction and promised a future of meeting great people and fun on the snow. The first guides were all personal friends of Scott and jumped at the chance to ski on tour as a guide.

As the years went on the tours slowly grew in size and popularity. A few different formats were tried, some with great success and others not so great. Many lessons were learnt in the first couple of years and thanks to the feedback of all the tour guests, the tours have been shaped into a first class product.

In October 2003, the business was purchased by two of Summit's long time guides Jeff Swan and Ross Walker.  With just a few small changes Summit again conducted three tours to Canada in 2004.

Summit is currently finalising arrangements for our 2007 tours.  Check out the rest of the website to find a tour that suits you!
